The company is the exclusive manufacturer of Ru-106 (Ruthenium-106) Ophthalmic Plaques, used to treat uveal melanoma and retinoblastoma. The product portfolio also includes the COMS Eye Applicators used together with the IsoSeeds® I-125 and the demonstration software Plaque Simulator.
Ru-106 Ophthalmic Plaques
Ru-106 Ophthalmic Plaques represent a unique brachytherapy source supplied by Eckert & Ziegler BEBIG for the treatment of uveal melanoma, retinoblastoma, melanoma of the iris and other applications. The plaques consist of a thin film of Ru-106, a beta emitter, encapsulated within pure silver sheets with a total thickness of only 1mm. Due to its half-life of 374 days, the Ru-106 Ophthalmic Plaques can be used a number of times within one year.

COMS Eye Applicators
COMS Eye Applicators are used to treat intraocular tumours like uveal melanoma or retinoblastoma with I-125 Ophthalmic Seeds (IsoSeed® I25.S16). They consist of gold plaque shells and silicon inserts with an optimised slot pattern to place the seeds. COMS Eye Applicators are available in 5 different sizes.
